In the original configuration, all oil from the garlock seals on the back of the engine and any oil in the engine vent line drain directly overboard by way of a gang drain at the bottom of the nacelle.

The Butterfield Industries Oil Residue Collection System will install a tank at the present location of the gang drain by the oil cooler. We also install an Air/Oil separator on the firewall. The combination of these two will eliminate the oil coming from the vent tube behind the cooler. The tank can then be drained in a timely manner to keep oil off the nacelle, landing gear and brakes.
